Description

This event will present information important to CSD students in their second year of graduate school preparing to enter into the work force. Presentations and activities will cover topics including job search, interviewing, clinical fellowship settings, certification and licensure, as well as professionalism. The goal of this event is to have participants leave feeling prepared to initiate their clinical fellowship.


Learner Outcomes

1. Understand the process and requirements for obtaining ASHA CCC, State Licensure, and DOE teacher certification (DESE);

2. Compare and contrast educational settings and healthcare settings;

3. Understand the process for obtaining Clinical Fellowship including job search, interviewing and hiring process.

Meredith Finnie, M.S., CCC-SLP

Financial: Meredith receives a salary for employment as a speech pathologist/Regional director with EBS Healthcare.

Non-financial:Meredith serves as Vice President of Membership for the Massachusetts Speech Language Hearing Association. She speaks to and teaches groups for MSHA.

Getting There

By “T”: Northeastern can be reached by subway via the Green Line of the MBTA. From downtown Boston, take an “E” train outbound to the Northeastern stop, the first stop above ground. The campus can also be reached from downtown via the Orange Line by taking any train going outbound to Forest Hills and getting off at Ruggles Station. Commuter rail lines connect with the Orange Line at Ruggles Station, Back Bay Station, and North Station.


Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received in writing before Thursday, February 18th. Cancellations after the cancellation date, or not submitted in writing will be subject to full billing.
