Dementia Capable Care:

  • One-Day Foundation Course
  • Two-Day Foundation and Dementia Therapy Applications Course
Over 5,000 professionals, including many speech-language pathologists, have attended and learned how to evaluate, treat, and document for reimbursable services using the Cognitive Disabilities Model by Claudia Allen as the key frame of reference. An introduction to administration, scoring, and setup of the Large Allen Cognitive Level Screen (LACLS) is presented. Participants learn how to discover and facilitate the best ability to function of persons with Alzheimer’s/dementia at all stages. The first day of training establishes a framework for promoting best abilities. The second day focuses on the application of new skills. ASHA approved. Up to 14 contact hours.
